CAPABILITIES

Carr Astronautics provides aerospace engineering, science modeling and analysis, information systems and operational support to NOAA, NASA, USDA and DoD agencies and various other commercial organizations. Internationally, Carr Astronautics is known for expert systems development and for image navigation and registration (INR) critical to Geostationary Imagery Systems in Europe, Japan and Korea. Our national and international collaborations with U.S., European, Japanese, and Korean satellite programs have advanced weather observing around the world.

Our systems, software and science contributions to the I-M, NOP and R series of the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) program, ESA/EUMETSAT’s METEOSAT program, and the Korean and Japanese weather satellite programs serve to highlight our achievements. Beyond our achievements in space, our remote sensing aerial imagery services contribute to healthier farm products, reduction in fertilizer run off and reduced operations costs for American farmers. The very high resolution imagery and data products are valuable to the farming, forestry and insurance industries. Our cloud-based data processing and archiving services puts valuable data into the hands of the USDA, crop consultants, and scientists researching the impact of global warming.

We have built a reputation for developing real-time science processing algorithms (SPA), revolutionizing Image Navigation and Registration (including geo-referencing/geo-registration & ortho-rectification), designing and implementing innovative and very cost effective direct readout/broadcast solutions, and “operationalizing science” for the I-M, NOP and R series of the Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES), ESA/EUMETSAT’s METEOSAT, and the Korean and Japanese weather satellite programs. Our systems literally span the globe.

As a Small Business within SBA's < $25 Million standard, Carr Astronautics has performed as both a federal Prime Contractor (NOAA, DoD) and a valuable teammate to large aerospace companies such as Harris, Boeing, Ball Aerospace and Thales-Alenia Space. The company is headquartered in Greenbelt, Maryland, with additional work locations in Lanham and Suitland, MD.
